Gunderloch Hipping GG Riesling 2024 (AO)

Hipping brings a slightly different personality to Gunderloch’s top Rieslings- generous and silky, but still absolutely loaded with energy. Crunchy red apple and fresh lemon lead the way, followed by white flowers, savoury herbs and a gentle smoky edge. There’s a lovely creaminess through the middle of the palate, and plenty of bright acidity keeps everything fresh and moving. The vineyard’s steep red-slate soils bring a distinct stony, mineral character that runs right through the wine. Spontaneous fermentation and barrel ageing allow all that fruit and site character to come through without too much fuss. It’s juicy and beautifully smooth, with citrus zest and a little savoury grip adding shape. You can expect a classic Roter Hang finish salty, stony and mouth-wateringly long. A beautifully composed dry Riesling that manages to feel generous, precise and seriously refreshing all at once.
