Yarra Yering Carrodus Chardonnay 2021

100% Chardonnay sourced from an impressive but small planting of the Burgundy clone 95. Hand harvested and whole bunch pressed directly to barrel. Handled oxidatively with no additions aside from an inoculation with select yeast. Matured in four 50% new French oak barriques for 10 months.

Blossom, slate, citrus; lemon and lime, green apple and fresh pear. A pure fruit expression, the palate is energetic with refreshing acidity, a pithy texture and chalky finish. A delicious and compact young wine, a Chardonnay to cellar and watch its evolution over time.
