Dom Perignon Plénitude 2 2004
Dom Perignon Plénitude 2, otherwise known as P2, is the rebranded name for Dom Perignon's take on the Oenothèque technique of winemaking. This is where the producer holds a small portion of wine from the very best vintages in their cellars for an extended period of time until the Cuvee reaches it's second level of maturity. This extended time on lees develops far a richer, more powerful and generous Champagne that also retains towering structure for long term ageing potential.
Only released in exceptional vintages, the 2004 P2 marks the sixth time this cuvee has been released under this labelling. Dom Pérignon’s cellar master, Vincent Chaperon, declared of 2004 "this is quite a perfect vintage" and accentuates the broad style they were looking to achieve.
James Suckling spoke to the incredible tension, vibrancy & fantastic focus in his 97 point review. Alison Napjus of Wine Spectator added her own 97 point review declaring "Lithe and graceful on the palate, but with a dancer's sense of restrained power. Drink now through 2037"
