Acquired by Jackson Family Wines in 2000 and renamed Yangarra Estate, this beacon of quality from Mclaren Vale has amassed a plethora of impressive awards in recent years. In recent years Yangarra Estate has been awarded James Halliday's Wine Companion: 2 x Wine of The Year awards (2019 & 2023), Winemaker of the Year (2016), #2 Winery in Australia (2024)  James Suckling's Top 100 wines of the year: #1 Australian Wine of the Year (2023)

Ovitelli is the most perfumed and elegant Grenache from the sands at Yangarra. The vibrant fruit of those dry grown 1946 bush vines. 

In their words - Winemaking: Sourced from Block 30 - 2.0 Ha, planted in 1946 and adjacent to the High Sands block. Hand-picked 20th March and selectively berry sorted. 100% destemmed, crushed and tipped into 675L ceramic eggs with gentle hand plunging. The fermentation occurred in the ceramic and remained on skins for approximately 7 months. No pressings are used in this wine. No oak, matured exclusively in ceramic for a total 11 months. Bottled February 2024. Certified Organic/Biodynamic.
