Xavier Goodridge Avon Pinot Noir 2024

This Pinot Noir comes from a single hectare of MV6 Pinot Noir at the Avon Vineyard, where the vines, planted in 1987, naturally produce small bunches with concentrated flavours. Situated in the cool climes of Maffra, Gippsland, these lower-yielding vines create a wine that’s full of depth and character. The hand-picked fruit is carefully sorted, with each bunch destemmed gently into fermenters. The fermentation process, taking place over 25 days, ensures the purity of the fruit is preserved while maintaining fine structure. After pressing, the wine is transferred to French oak barriques—30% new—where it matures for 10 months, enhancing its complexity and adding a touch of elegance. Bottled in 2025, this Pinot Noir showcases the site’s unique character, with clarity and precision, offering a balance of fruit-forward charm and structural finesse.
