Xavier Goodridge Gippsland Pinot Noir 2024

If you're looking for a Pinot Noir that truly captures the spirit of Gippsland, this is it. The Gippsland Pinot Noir is a blend of all the new and grafted vines at the Avon Vineyard, showcasing three unique Pinot Noir clones—MV6, Abel, and 114. It’s our take on a “village” Pinot Noir, offering a true representation of the diversity within the region and the site itself. Hand-picked into 15kg baskets, the fruit is meticulously sorted before being gently destemmed and left to ferment for around 20 days. The wine is then pressed and transferred to large-format oak foudres—1800L in size—where it matures for 10 months, allowing it to develop richness and complexity without overwhelming the delicate fruit. Bottled in February 2025, this Pinot Noir is vibrant, fresh, and approachable, yet it still carries a distinct sense of place—a wine that’s perfectly Gippsland, through and through.
