Sorrenberg Cabernet Blend 2024

Hailing from the beautiful hills of Beechworth, this is a wonderfully layered blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a few supporting Bordeaux varieties. A generous growing season has delivered beautifully ripe fruit, with blackcurrant, juicy blackberry and dark plum leading the charge. There’s a lovely little flicker of white pepper, savoury spice and subtle earthy complexity keeping things interesting. Naturally fermented on skins for four weeks, the wine develops impressive depth and structure without losing its charm. Two years in French oak brings everything together, adding richness, polish and beautifully integrated tannins. The palate is generous and velvety, with dark berry flavours, fine silky tannins and a long, elegant finish. Bottled without fining or filtration, this is Sorrenberg doing what it does best – creating wines with character, balance and plenty of personality. Absolutely delicious now, but with more than enough staying power to reward a few years tucked away in the cellar.
