Made in tiny quantities, with just 2,000 bottles produced, this is a beautifully crafted Chardonnay that proves good things really do come in small batches. Handpicked and whole-bunch basket-pressed, the fruit is treated with plenty of care before heading into a combination of seasoned French oak and a new egg-shaped cask. The nose is an absolute delight, bursting with juicy white peach, ripe nectarine and a lively squeeze of lemon zest. There's a lovely flinty, mineral edge lurking beneath the fruit, alongside hints of toasted nougat and delicate oak spice. The palate is wonderfully layered, with generous stone fruit, zesty grapefruit and a subtle savoury richness. Eleven months resting on fine lees brings a gorgeous texture, while vibrant natural acidity keeps everything beautifully fresh and focused. A gentle touch of smoky reduction and beautifully integrated oak add complexity without stealing the show. Elegant, energetic and seriously moreish, this is Chardonnay with finesse, personality and plenty of reasons to fall in love.
