Sato LFDS Alyssum Gamay 2023

From superstar winemaker Yoshiaki and his wife Kyoko, the La Ferme de Sato (LFDS) vineyard was established in 2016 on an old sheep farm in the sub-region of Pisa. The tiny planting of 0.25Ha of Pinot Noir is farmed organically, the wine is unfined, unfiltered and vegan friendly.  148 dozen of 2023 released.

Critics thoughts -  "Clearly the best gamay in New Zealand, showing perfumed aromas of flowers, black pepper and cloves as well as orange peel with wet earth. Medium-bodied. This has a solid core of fruit and an extremely long finish with granite and slate undertones, just like a top Morgon. Drink now."  96 points, James Suckling.
