Pierre Girardin VDF Savignin Le Noyer 2023

Importers thoughtsThis Le Noyer Savagnin is from Jura in Rotalier on soils of blue/grey marl. Sharp and vivid wine, salty at the end of the mouth, with a great freshness.

Jura is the new Burgundy, or should I say the old one. The atmosphere, the soils, nature and the feeling Pierre Girardin got there was magic. Rotalier is a well-known village of South Revermont, surrounded by hills planted in vines, luxurious flora and small, charming wine villages, similar soil as Côte de Beaune with limestone. The start of a new adventure.

Pierrre followed the same approach as in Burgundy, a single plot, a single lieu-dit, a unique wine! The Jura project was no longer a one shot but definitely the beginning of a new story for the Domaine.

Sharp and vivid wine, salty at the end of the mouth, with a great freshness. Hints of chalk and wet stone. Electric wine that wakes up all your senses. The nose reveals a mineral character, fresh citrus (lime) and hints of wet stone, before discovering a structured, crystalline, dense palate, magnified by a beautiful, mouth-watering acidity. This biodynamic Savagnin stands out for its balance between vibrant energy and salty character, promising to age for up to ten years.
