Penfolds RWT Bin 798 Shiraz 2021 is a gleaming, inky‑purple marvel from the heart of the Barossa Valley that winks at you before it even touches your lips. It’s full‑bodied but polished—dark berries like blackberry and blueberry strut onto the stage, supported by whispers of violet and lavender florals. There’s a swirl of mocha, black olive tapenade and earthy spice thanks to around 14 months in French oak (80 % new), but it never feels heavy. Tannins are plush yet firm, and the acidity keeps everything lively and long‑lasting. This is refined Barossa splendour—opulent, layered and cheekily impressive.
