Founded in 2005 by the visionary Casey Overeem, his journey began as a humble adventure, a true labor of love rooted in the art of distilling exceptional single malt whisky. As the years rolled on, Casey poured not just his skills into crafting exquisite whisky but also his heart and soul, nurturing Overeem into a respected name in the whisky community. However, in 2014, faced with the challenges of growth and expansion, Casey found himself at a crossroads that many entrepreneurs dread: the decision to sell. While it was a reluctant choice, he recognised it was necessary for the brand’s evolution, enabling it to flourish beyond his initial vision.

Yet, life often has a way of surprising us in the most profound ways. In 2019, after five years of transition, an unexpected twist brought the Overeem Whisky brand back home. Casey’s daughter, Jane, alongside her husband Mark, made a bold move to acquire the distillery, rekindling the family legacy and igniting a new chapter for Overeem. The moment they rolled the original casks back into the barrel stores where they once resided was a triumphant return, steeped in nostalgia and anticipation.

As the end of each year approaches, the family takes time to celebrate through the creation of their “Man of Promise Reserve.”  This special whisky embodies the promise Casey made to himself over two decades ago: to craft a whisky that would stand alongside the best in the world.   It also tells a story of perseverance, dedication, and success, honoring both the past and the exciting future ahead.
