Beautifully floral and fresh on the nose, with lemon blossom, ripe citrus and a lovely hint of white nectarine. Give it a little time in the glass and things get interesting, with savoury notes of toasted nuts, salted popcorn and a touch of mushroom. Hand-harvested fruit and wild fermentation bring plenty of character, while French oak adds gentle richness without stealing the show. The palate is wonderfully energetic, with juicy lemon, subtle honey and a creamy, oatmeal-like texture. A splash of sea spray and a fine mineral edge keep everything feeling fresh and beautifully balanced. Bright acidity runs right through the wine, delivering a long, crisp and wonderfully persistent finish. Elegant, savoury and full of personality, this is a cracking example of why Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay is so highly regarded.
