Moorooduc Estate McIntyre Chardonnay 2024

 From the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, this single-vineyard Chardonnay is all about layers of flavour, texture and freshness. The nose is wonderfully inviting, bursting with orange blossom, candied citrus peel, lime curd and juicy nectarine. Give it a swirl and things get even more interesting, with toasted brioche, salted caramel and a cheeky hint of crème brûlée. The palate is rich and beautifully textured, delivering salted lemon, fresh butter, roasted almonds and a deliciously savoury, nutty character. Wild fermentation and French oak maturation bring complexity and depth, while vibrant citrus acidity keeps everything wonderfully precise. There's a lovely salty, mineral edge running through the wine, balancing its generous fruit and creamy texture. The finish is long, structured and beautifully crisp, with layers of citrus, toasted nuts and subtle oak lingering well after the last sip. A seriously classy Chardonnay that manages to be generous and indulgent without losing its elegance.
