Mayer Bloody Hill Villages Shiraz 2025

Ten year old vines from Coldstream, Yarra Valley. Vineyard is on the Valley floor, north facing, 1654 clone, 50% whole bunch.

Lighter styled Shiraz, bunchiest wine he made this year.

Critics thoughts - Meaty, gamey, savoury, dried herbs, undergrowth, dark cherry, dried, salted plums, liquorice and blood orange. Chalky, chewy texture, dry, skittish, blood orange finish. Vibrant and uplifting at the same time as being definitively ‘syrah’ in its perfume, tension, fine tannin profile and lithe form. Should age very well, but rip in too.  94 Points Mike Bennie Wine Front
