Liz Heidenreich Barossa Valley Grenache 2020

Some Barossa names carry real history, and Heidenreich is one of them. Liz’s family has grown grapes in the region for generations, with her grandfather planting the first Heidenreich vineyard in Vine Vale in 1936. This 2020 Grenache wears that heritage lightly: generous and deeply flavoured, but never heavy.

Raspberry and poached rhubarb lead into red and black cherry, a touch of fruitcake spice and bright, maraschino-like acidity. Fine, supple tannins stretch across a long, silky finish, giving the wine power without sacrificing freshness. A beautifully balanced Barossa Valley Grenache that will feel right at home alongside slow-roasted lamb, charred vegetables or a generously laden grazing board.
