La Linea Tempranillo Sureno 2022

This is the darker, moodier member of the La Linea family- less about pretty perfume and more about savoury depth and structure. Dark cherry and roasted cherry tomato sit at the centre, with plum, dried herbs and earthy spice filling out the edges. There’s a lovely rustic quality to it, but nothing feels heavy or clumsy. The real star is the tannin: firm, dry and almost dark-chocolate-like, giving the wine plenty of shape and a seriously satisfying chew. Underneath it all is fresh acidity and generous fruit, keeping that structure lively and balanced. A deeper, more serious expression of Adelaide Hills Tempranillo, with plenty happening now and the bones to become even more interesting with time.
