Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Villages 2023

Made entirely from Gamay grown across celebrated village sites, with schist and pink granite underneath.  The fruit is hand-picked and fermented as whole bunches using traditional semi-carbonic maceration.  A spell in stainless steel keeps the style bright, polished and delightfully fruit-forward.  Raspberry, wild strawberry and red cherry lead the charge.  Violet and peony bring the perfume, with a gentle flick of spice in the background.  Light on its feet, silky through the middle and fresh right to the finish.  Charming, juicy and far too easy to pour again.
