Jean Foillard Morgon 'Cuvee Corcelette' 2023
Corcelette is the quieter sibling in the Foillard family — but don’t mistake that for dull. This Morgon is all elegance and finesse, gliding across the palate like it’s late to a silk robe party. Grown on well-drained granite soils and aged in seasoned barrels, it opens with incense and spiced red fruit, then slips into white pepper and poise. The tannins? Finely tailored. The balance? Spot on. It’s a wine that feels effortless — the kind that whispers its complexity, then lingers just long enough to make you want another glass (or three).
Critics thoughts - The 2023 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette comes from well-drained granite soils and is aged for nine months in used barrel. It has a perfumed bouquet of incense that blossoms with aeration, as touches of brown spice infuse the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and transparent with finely chiselled tannins, exquisite balance and a dab of white pepper towards the sustained finish. This very classy Morgon is difficult to resist. 92/100 By Neal Martin on March 2025
