Jansz Pontos Hills Vintage Cuvee 2020

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are picked and fermented together as a field blend from Pontos Hills in southern Tasmania. The wine starts life in seasoned French oak with native yeasts, building texture and complexity without drowning everything in oak. Lemon, lime and grapefruit lead the way, followed by white peach, lemon myrtle and a salty sea-spray freshness. Then the lees ageing starts doing its thing, bringing in honeycomb, nougat and toasted hazelnut. There’s plenty of richness through the palate, and the bright Tasmanian acidity keeps it energetic and beautifully composed. Fine mousey bubbles, creamy texture and the finish just keeps on giving. Complex, powerful Tasmanian sparkling that still manages to feel fresh, precise and ridiculously drinkable.
