Indigo Beechworth Sangiovese 2024

The 2024 Indigo Beechworth Sangiovese is a medium bodied versatile food wine, with depth and complexity. A cracking example of what happens when Italian flair meets cool-climate Australian winemaking. Bright cherries, raspberries and juicy red plums lead the charge, but there's plenty more going on beneath the surface. Wild herbs, fresh mint and a touch of earthy, worn leather bring a wonderfully rustic charm to the glass. It's a little more serious than your typical fruit-forward Sangiovese, but certainly hasn't forgotten how to have fun. Medium-bodied with lovely depth, vibrant acidity and a generous helping of savoury character. Those long, fine-grained tannins give it just the right amount of grip, keeping everything beautifully in check. The finish is dry, persistent and deliciously savoury, with lingering red fruits and a whisper of spice. A wonderfully expressive Sangiovese that balances bright fruit, earthy complexity and plenty of personality.
