Hudelot-Noellat Vosne Romanee Les Suchots 1er 2023

The style of the Domaine is defined by elegance and purity. Since 2008 Charles Van Canneyt, (grandson of founder Alain Hudelot) has managed this iconic 10 hectare Cote de Nuit estate.  The vineyard “Les Suchots” is located next to the Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru vineyard and made from a vineyard planted in 1920. It combines the Domaine’s oldest vines with the vines of their Romanée-Saint-Vivant vineyard.

Ancient vines, tiny millerand grapes, have delivered a wine of incredibly intense colour, a deep and imperial purple. You can smell those grape skins on the nose. As powerful a Suchots as I can remember yet not denatured by this intensity. Blueberries and bilberries, yielding to a precise, concentrated finish.
