Gustavo Martinez Korinta Chasselas 2022

Importers thoughts - Orange wine alert! 100% Chasselas (known as Korinta locally) which is sparsely grown and nearly impossible to find in single vineyard in Chile, but here you have it. 2019 was the first year Gustavo worked with this grape also sourced from Quilaco on granite soils. Sustainably dry-farmed 20+ year old vines from a 0.5 hectare site. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and go through spontaneous yeast fermentation for 2 weeks in tank with an additional 7 months on the skins in stainless steel with a pass through neutral French oak before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, low sulfur addition at bottling. Only around 900 bottles produced.
