Grace Rose 2023
Ah, a wine that truly speaks to the heart of Japan! Born in 2008, this dry rosé was crafted from a dream by Ayana Misawa, head viticulturist and winemaker at Misawa Vineyard, to create a rosé with structure. The blend changes each year, but in this vintage, it’s a harmonious mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Petit Verdot—grapes grown at 700m altitude in the rich, volcanic soils of Akeno. The grapes are treated with care, with no herbicides or chemical fertilisers, and are fermented separately using both direct press and the Saignée method. The wine then matures in old French oak barrels, which allows it to express both the complexity of the varietals and the unique characteristics of the vineyard. The result is a dry rosé that’s far from one-dimensional. With a delicate balance of fresh fruit, light oak, and that unmistakeable sense of place, it's a rosé with a story to tell and a finish that lingers with elegance. Perfect for those who prefer a rosé that’s as serious as it is delicious!
