Ghiaccio Forte Morellino di Scansano 2024

100% sangiovese Morellino di Scansano by Filippo Chia, owner and winemaker of the renowned Montalcino house Castello Romitorio.  Since 2020 the 20 hectare vineyard on the Tuscan coast has been farmed organically.

"This is crisp and quite steely, a distinct iron filings thing here, along with cherry and strawberry, some almond and dried herb. It’s a light wine, quite frisky, cherry and dried herb, with a slightly sour cherry bite, good energy, with a finish of fine length. It’s a bit dusty and peppery to close, but I like this sort of juicy blood orange tang it offers and that peppery bite. Some Campari in the mix, and all up a bright and interesting wine. Crunch.
