Gentle Folk Monomeith Pinot Noir 2024
In their words - One of the great and distinctive vineyards of the Adelaide Hills, and certainly one of the coolest. Monomeith sits in its own very cool valley on the top ridge of Ashton and the vines benefit from an east-west orientation, where part of the vineyard gets the morning sun and the other half the afternoon sun. This results in a wine with great depth, complexity and all the classic aromatics of great Adelaide Hills Pinot noir.

Vinification:Ā 20% whole cluster open top fermentation for two to three weeks followed by 10 months in oak, 20% new, before racking to tank for three months and bottled.
Critics thoughts -Ā Ashton. Vineyard planted 1996. Sits at 530 metres above sea level. 20% whole bunch. 20% new oak.Ā Hereās a very specific and characterful wine. Blueberry, blackcurrant, floral, bergamot (or Earl Grey tea if youād rather), and quite some sappy and rosy perfume, with spice and a stony character. Itās succulent in cherry and blue fruit, thereās a sweetness of fruit on offer, with a marzipan richness, then it pulls dry, nutty and long on a juicy finish of excellent length. What a lovely wine.Ā 94 points Gary Walsh The Wine Front
