Francois Rousset-Martin Cuvée 909 Pinot Noir 2024
François Rousset-Martin has a knack for making wines with personality, and this wonderfully lively Pinot Noir from the Jura is no exception. Named after the year monks departed the region's Baume-les-Messieurs Abbey to establish Cluny Abbey, Cuvée 909 is a playful nod to local history. Grown on limestone soils, this is Pinot Noir at its most delicate and expressive, with bright aromas of cranberry, wild strawberries, red liquorice and a touch of spice. The palate is juicy and light on its feet, bringing together fresh red berries, watermelon rind and subtle forest-floor earthiness. Fine, silky tannins and vibrant acidity keep everything beautifully balanced, while a gentle savoury bitterness adds an intriguing edge to the finish. Fresh, fragrant and just a little wild, this is Jura Pinot Noir with plenty of charm and absolutely no unnecessary fuss.
