Finisterre by Robert Oatley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Margaret River Cabernet has a particular ability to combine dark fruit with a cool, savoury line. For Finisterre, the grapes are hand picked and carefully sorted, given extended time on skins and matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak.

Cassis, blackberry and dark cherry form the core, followed by bay leaf, cedar and tobacco. The tannins are long and gravelly rather than bulky, giving the wine a firm sense of direction. Deeply flavoured and serious, yet still recognisably shaped by Margaret River’s maritime freshness
