Domaine Santa Duc Aux Lieux Dits Gigondas 2020

This Gigondas wine is a harmonious blend of grapes from eight distinct locations within the Rhone Valley, each contributing to its unique character. With 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 2% Cinsault, the wine showcases the diverse terroirs and geologies of the region, including sandy soils with red clay and gravel, blue Pliocene marl, and grey marl rich in limestone. Cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted meticulously before undergoing fermentation in stainless-steel vats for 20 to 30 days. Aged for 18 months in oak foudres and terracotta amphorae, the wine presents initially with fruit-forward notes and evolves gracefully over time, developing spicy complexities. This meticulous process results in a wine that epitomizes the essence of Gigondas, offering a balanced and expressive representation of the region's terroir.
