Domaine Naturaliste Rachis Syrah 2023

Crafted by the talented Bruce Dukes, Rachis is a beautifully fragrant, spicy and downright seductive take on this classic Rhône variety. The secret weapon? Around one-third whole bunches in the ferment, bringing extra perfume, texture and a lovely savoury edge. The nose is bursting with juicy red cherries, raspberries and blackberries, with a cheeky crack of black pepper keeping things lively. Dig a little deeper and you'll find hints of liquorice, dark chocolate, leather and a splash of blood orange. The palate is wonderfully vibrant, delivering fresh blueberries, ripe red berries and a deliciously silky texture. Fine, gently grippy tannins provide just enough structure, while subtle smoky notes add another layer of intrigue. There's a beautiful balance between bright, juicy fruit and savoury complexity, finishing long, spicy and effortlessly elegant. A seriously charming Syrah that proves Margaret River has plenty more tricks up its sleeve.
