Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rouge

This is Cabernet Franc with serious pedigree and plenty of soul. Sourced from old vines planted in the ‘50s on Brézé’s limestone slopes, Guiberteau’s Saumur Rouge (Village) is all about balance—between bright, juicy fruit and earthy savoury nuance. Fermented naturally in concrete and aged in large tronconique barrels, this 2021 release brings a cool-climate charm with aromas of raspberry, nettle and a bit of wild sage. On the palate it’s vibrant, tangy, and pulpy, with a mineral snap and a long, herb-laced finish. Less showy than Les Moulins, but deeper, more serious—this is for those who like their reds with a bit of edge and elegance.
