Domaine de La Garenne Macon-Aze Blanc 2020

In their words - Nestled in the heart of Mâconnais on a southeast-facing hillside, Domaine de la Garenne spans 8 hectares (20 acres) exclusively planted with Chardonnay. Overlooking the charming village of Azé, this estate was acquired in 2008 and is currently overseen by Enrico Peyron, the technical advisor for Domaines Devillard. The vineyards benefit from optimal exposure and soil conditions, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

These vines were planted in 1986 in the highest part of the commune of Azé. Deep limestone soils. This wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and then aged 80% in stainless steel with the remainder spending about 7 months in older French oak. Yellow fruits, yellow flowers, mineral.

The wine presents a beautiful yellow hue with golden highlights. On the nose, it offers a delightful blend of fruity aromas, prominently featuring pear and white peach, complemented by emerging mineral undertones.  Structured on the mid-palate, the wine delivers a fresh and enduring finish that lingers pleasantly.
