Cien Y Pico Knights Errant Garnacha 2012
Cien y Pico, meaning "Hundred & Something" in La Mancha, is located on a high, dry plateau in Don Quixote’s land, where ancient vines thrive in limestone-rich, Miocene-era sedimentary red sand and clay, yielding small, intense crops despite minimal rainfall. The 2007 release marked the beginning of this journey, capturing the privileged purity of hundred-plus-year-old vines. With minimal intervention, the wine showcases traditional vinification with new French oak, offering a bouquet of leather, polished wood, and cigar box, intertwined with rosemary, fennel, and aniseed. On the palate, it delivers rounded dried fruit flavours and vibrant acidity, featuring raisins, stewed quinces, autumn red grapes, and frosty morning plums.
