A true reflection of an exceptional year and centuries of winemaking tradition. The weather in 1997 couldn’t have been better for the vines, with just the right mix of rainfall and warmth to yield grapes of perfect maturity. This Riserva is made from the BBS11 clone of Sangiovese Grosso, the very same variety selected and refined by Biondi-Santi in the 1970s. Aged for 3 years in Slavonian oak and then carefully cellared in "La Storica", Biondi-Santi’s bottle library, this wine has matured gracefully. The result? A deep, layered expression of Sangiovese—earthy, refined, and complex with time-worn elegance. A wine to savour, as it continues to unfold with each sip.
