Bindi Darshan Pinot Noir 2017
The Darshan vineyard stands as a tribute to Bindi founder Bill Darshan Singh Dhillon, commemorating his legacy following his passing in early 2013. Initiated a few months thereafter, vineyard preparations culminated in planting in 2014.
Positioned westward on quartz-riddled soils akin to the Original Vineyard, Darshan boasts a density of 11,300 vines per hectare, including a unique section comprising 20% Crazy vines at 22,600 vines per hectare featuring four clones. Over the initial seven vintages up to 2023, this site has consistently yielded ethereal wines characterized by exquisite perfume and spice, complemented by a lacy, sinewy, and enduring palate. Darshan, akin to the Original Vineyard, emphasizes perfume and finesse, contrasting with the fruit depth and structure shared by Block 8 and Block 5. Maturation occurs for 15-17 months in French barrels, with approximately 35% being new. Since 2017, these wines have exhibited graceful aging, acquiring earthiness, texture, and captivating beauty.
