Bera Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja Nebbiolo 2017
We were fortunate to try this Riserva during a recent trade visit by the winery, put simply, it blew us away, such elegance and poise, yet structured, vibrant and brimming with that Neb tannin (in a good way). At 9 years old its in a happy drinking place and will steadily improve for at least another 5 years. 24 months maturation in Forde and I believe he said 48 months in bottle before release.
In their words - It has a ruby red color, intense and brilliant, with orange highlights. It has an elegant bouquet, composite and ethereal with aromas of violet, red fruit jam, spices like pepper and vanilla. Elegant, dry, balanced, good structure and tannins. Wine of good body, great harmony and great aristocracy. It goes well with red meats, game and aged cheeses and can be good also for meditation moments.
Grapes arrived at the winery are putted through the destemmer and crushed and they are fermented for 2 weeks. The wine is aged in big barrel (2550 L.) for a period of
24 months.
