BATTLES PINOT NOIR 2025

Battles has ventured into Pinot Noir territory, and what a cracking debut this is! Sourced from the Shepherd’s Hut Vineyard in Western Australia's cool-climate Porongurup region, this beautifully expressive Pinot showcases the elegance and savoury character of its granitic soils. The nose is wonderfully inviting, bursting with bright cherries, raspberries and a hint of blackcurrant, alongside dried flowers, citrus zest and gentle spice. The palate is fresh and lively, with juicy red berries, subtle forest-floor earthiness and a delicate touch of French oak adding depth and complexity. Fine, supple tannins and vibrant acidity keep everything beautifully balanced, while a lovely savoury mineral edge carries through to a long, refined finish. Elegant, energetic and full of personality, this is a seriously impressive first release with plenty of charm and the structure to develop beautifully in the cellar.
