Bader Mimeur Bourgogne Aligote 'Les Pierres' 2023

Grown on the clay-limestone soils of the “Les Pierres” parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet, where the vines enjoy just the right mix of calm and challenge. Farmed with thoughtful, eco-minded care under Haute Valeur Environnementale Level 3, the vineyard is tended without herbicides and worked partly by hand and mechanical cultivation. Hand-harvested bunches are gently pressed, then the juice slips by gravity into barrel for a natural fermentation led by indigenous yeasts. 10-month rest in French oak (never new) with regular bâtonnage builds texture without masking the grape’s lively spirit.
In the glass, it’s bright yet layered, with citrus, white blossom, crisp orchard fruit and a subtle savoury thread from its time on lees. There’s a lovely silkiness here, an inviting freshness and a quiet confidence that reminds you why Aligoté deserves far more applause.
