Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 2021

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 11% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot from the original Yarra yering Block No. 1. Hand-picked and hand sorted, only the best berries go on to fermentation, a portion of the Cabernet is fermented in 100% new oak cask with 8 weeks on skins. Matured in 40% new French oak for 15 months before blending.

Black berry fruits and a rustic iodine feel compliment some bay leaf adding a background herbal lift. Mixed brown spices and a hint of oak; flavour and tannin. Beautiful fruit, refreshing acidity and fine tannins form a solid foundation for a long future. Complex but not intimidating, always exciting to watch evolve.
