Maugeri Contrada Volpare Carricante, a wine that artfully captures the essence of Sicily's Contrada Volpare, a region renowned for its distinct terroir and viticultural heritage. Nestled in the heart of Sicily, Contrada Volpare boasts a unique microclimate and volcanic soils, imparting a singular character to the Carricante grapes that thrive in its sun-drenched vineyards. The grapes are hand-picked, gently pressed with a pneumatic press, and undergo cryomaceration. The cold-clarified must is fermented (90%) in steel and 10% in 500-liter French oak barrels, and aged on the fine lees for 8 months.
