Henri & Gilles Buisson Saint-Romain Sous La Velle 2020

The Buissons farm nearly 2ha of 60-year-old vines at 370m in the Sous la Velle lieu-dit. The site has more clay in the soil than the other side of the valley, and in 2020 it produced a ripe, concentrated wine scented with quince, a hint of citrus, and notes of mineral and spice. Despite the heat of the year, there is plenty of freshness here to balance the lush feel on the palate to perfection. This is marvelous wine from an overlooked appellation. Biodynamic.
