Thymiopoulos Alta Naoussa Xinomavro 2023

Alta comes from Fytia, where altitude brings cooler conditions and a more delicate face to Xinomavro. Native fermentation and eight months in large French-oak vats preserve the perfume while giving the high-grown fruit a fine, steady structure.

Cherry and strawberry are lifted by lavender, then dried herbs and cedar draw the wine into more savoury territory. The tannins are firm yet feather-light, almost floating through the finish. It is an aromatic, graceful interpretation of a grape too often described only by its power.
