Pooley Syrah 2023

Syrah in Tasmania speaks with a different accent. Instead of sheer weight, Pooley draws out perfume, pepper and cool-climate detail, fermenting the Coal River Valley fruit carefully before resting it in French oak for shape rather than sweetness.

Black cherry and blackberry bring depth, but violet, white pepper and dried orange peel are what give the wine its character. Powdery tannins gather slowly across the palate, leaving a savoury, finely drawn finish. It is Syrah with energy and definition, not muscle for its own sake.
