Pooley Margaret Tribute Riesling 2022

Named in tribute to Margaret Pooley, this comes from the original Riesling plantings at Cooinda Vale. The old-vine fruit has concentration to spare, so the winemaking allows a little more breadth: time on fine lees and a portion of seasoned oak build texture around the vineyard’s natural drive.

Lime and mandarin begin brightly, then orange blossom, beeswax and gentle spice appear with air. It is more layered and contemplative than a straightforward young Riesling, yet the mineral spine remains firm from beginning to end.
