Mukai 'Ine Mankai' 2024

This is a sake that tells a story. Ine Mankai is made with an ancient strain of red rice, Murasaki, and the local Kyoto Iwai rice. Red rice has been used in Japan for centuries—mainly in traditional celebrations—but it’s rare to see it in sake. Kuniko Mukai, inspired by a professor’s advice on balance, created this vibrant, perfectly harmonious brew. The result? A complex bouquet of cherry and vanilla on the nose, followed by sweet-tart cherry and pomegranate flavours.
