Louis Latour Savigny les Beaune 2018

Time has been kind to this Savigny-lès-Beaune. Traditional fermentation and maturation in French oak gave the Pinot Noir its original frame; bottle age has since softened the fruit and invited the more earthy, autumnal details forward.

Red cherry and raspberry remain, now joined by dried rose, forest floor and gentle spice. The tannins have settled into a fine, savoury line, giving the wine a graceful, mature shape rather than youthful sweetness. A quietly evolved Burgundy with its story already beginning to unfold.
