Joshua Cooper Dry Red Blend (nee Claret) 2025

Previous called Claret, Josh must have got the cease and desist letter from France.  Still the same awesome blend that blew us away last year!

This is an absolutely delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. A lovely soft and fruit-forward style, making it wonderfully approachable now.

On the nose is a beautiful mix of blood plum, cassis, and luscious black cherry, with subtle hints of tobacco and violets, while the palate is plush and brimming with all the purple berry fruits.

In Josh's words - A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, made in a slightly softer and more fruit-forward style than our other Cabernet wines, though with enough structure to enjoy both now or later.

Bright garnet in colour, the Claret is full of blood plum, cassis and creamy black cherry fruit, while subtle tobacco, violet and iodine add complexity. Plush and full of purple berry fruit, the palate is light enough for luncheon drinking, yet also has enough stuffing and structure to take serious food matching, or some time in the cellar. 2025 is a particularly strong vintage for this wine and sadly made in quite limited quantity due to the dry season.
