Giant Steps Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2024
Brilliant pale straw colour with a subtle glimmer of green around the edges and a watery hue. Sailing out of the glass are aromas of white peach, nectarine and dried honey followed by some cashew, biscuity nougat and spice notes. Refined and mid weighted yet showing good intensity the palate is layered with fleshy white peach and nectarine fruits. Dried honey, biscuity nougat and traces of gun flint linger underneath. Long, gently creamed finish.
Critics thoughts - "An even split of upper and lower Yarra fruit; both estate grown and from growers. Less mlf than last year. Smells fleshy with aromas of stone fruits, together with a little pink grapefruit and light citrus notes. It's both approachable and gentle, even as a young wine, but the balance for drinking now or cellaring in the short to medium term is absolutely spot on." - Philip Rich 95 points Halliday Wine Companion
