Luke Lambert Crudo Shiraz 2024

Critics thoughts - here’s an in-joke around a few people I know – they call this wine ‘crud-oh’, leaning into the word crud. That it is not, nor has it been, but hey, there’s a moment of my world for you (again).

Lots of black olive, salted liquorice, dried seaweed, smoked paprika, a touch of game meat, some garam masala spice and then, yes, then, the black plum, dark cherry, dashes of cola. A swirl of tannin through the palate, gently grippy, some light-smoky minerality shot through. A bit of plushness, very dark and brooding, but also a clean, cool finish. Warming drinking, charming drinking. Savoury syrah here we go.  93 points Mike Bennie Wine Front
