Coeur des Sages Beaujolais Villages Gamay 2023

Critics thoughts -  An appealing Beaujolais made from 100% gamay. Vibrant ruby colour with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and a touch of cherry ripe. The palate is smooth and seamless, medium weight, with a slightly earthy character adding complexity. Finishes long with pleasing chalky acidity. Cellar: 5 years.  93 Points Ray Jordan Wine Pilot

From the granite-rich soils of Beaujolais comes this dancy and delightful wine that will be sure to please a legion of fans. A riot of red petals and violets skips from the glass building an impressive aromatic profile. Peppered steak makes an early statement with strawberries, cherry pips, black tea, puffs of earth and dried herbs flow throughout. Whole bunch fermentation has added complexity through the palate with a minerally presence that speaks of the soils from which it was born. A fine sprinkle of pepper lingers on a lengthy and moreish finish with silty tannins having the last word. It’s a very tidy and agile drink that would eat up a diverse range of dishes.  91 points Qwine
